My Top 6 Favourite Foundations

After trying many foundations throughout the year of exploring makeup, I've learnt a lot about what works and what is absolutely trash on my skin. I have combination skin, and since it's currently winter here in Australia; my skin is suffering more on the drier. In this post, I've decided write about 3 of my favourite foundations in winter and in summer.

During the colder seasons, I will generally opt for a foundation with a dewy finish. This is because, most matte foundations would make my already dry skin, even more flakier.

The Maybelline Instant Age Rewind, is the best for everyday use in this cold weather. This foundation provides with medium coverage, (however you are able to build on for a full coverage look), and feels quite moisturising and nourishing on my skin. This foundation also comes with 18 SPF which is such a benefit, however I'm not quite sure about the “instant age rewind” part.

For vegans out there, The Body Shop’s Fresh Nude Foundation may be something worth investing. This product quite light weight, which is great for work and other occasions when, you don't want to put on so much makeup. It comes in a bottle with a pump, which is what every foundation should come with (in my opinion). Although, when it came to the longevity of this product, it would only last for half of the day before needing to reapply.

The last foundation for winter may not be dewy, but it is quite nourishing and not drying. The M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid is one of those foundations that I would save for special occasions. This foundation gives great coverage, giving off that ‘flawless’ and ‘airbrushed’ look which is fantastic. Some may want to have full coverage every single day which is fine however, personally since I have such sensitive skin, this product makes me break out quite a bit. On a positive note though, longevity of the product is… just absolutely amazing. I swear, it literally lasts forever. I've also realised that even though it has SPF 15 in it, this foundation doesn't have flash-back which is great when taking selfies with friends.

Here is a collection of 3 foundations that I personally find that work well for me in summer (or just whenever).

Maybelline Super Stay 24HR Foundation provides you with light coverage, and in my experience with the product it has lasted me for so long during Melbourne’s heat waves. I tend to get very oily during summer, and despite wearing this foundation for roughly 8 hours. This foundation is great for a matte but light coverage look!

This little baby was the biggest hype when it first came out into the shelves about 2 years ago, probably because it is so good! The Maybelline Fit Me (Dewy/Matte) both give quite light-medium coverage, which looks quite natural. It is very easy to blend and they both last quite long. However, unlike the matte foundation, I've realised that the dewy one does make me break out a bit. But nevertheless, I absolutely love this foundation.

Last of all my all time favourite foundation at the moment, L'OrĂ©al’s Infallible. This is probably the best, matte liquid foundation that I've ever used. It is very easy to blend, the coverage is amazing, and it lasts for an extremely long time. I don't know what else I can say, I just love this especially in summer. Another thing, it doesn't get oily after long use, well this is my experience with the foundation.

Thank you for tuning in on my 6 favourite foundations. These are personal reviews, of my top 5 favourite foundations. What are your or is your favourite foundation?
